Nobuhiko Seki

After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo in 1990, Nobuhiko Seki joined the Ministry of Construction. In 1995, he completed an MBA at Columbia University Graduate School of Business in the U.S. From 1996 through 2009, he was a banker in Goldman Sachs’ investment banking division, focusing on M&A and financial transactions in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. As a managing director in an advisory group, he advised Japan’s top 200 companies. From 2009 he worked as Chief Financial Officer for a private equity portfolio at Goldman Sachs for Fujita Corporation. He supervised its turn-around through the refinancing of commercial bank borrowing, headcount reductions, asset sales, and implementing risk management systems. In 2012 he joined the government’s private equity arm, INCJ, which provides risk capital to growing technology companies. He led various tech start-up investments and monitored them as a board member. He joined JIEM in December 2014. In March 2015, he participated in the creation of EduLab, Inc. and was made CFO. There, he takes initiatives in financing, investment, and internal control.
